As per the assigned functions, IPC department will continue to share capacity with relevant Departments, thus ensuring effective coordination at diverse levels to consolidate stance/ resolve emerging post-devolution matters in a befitting manner.

The Inter Provincial Coordination Department was established in 2007 in the backdrop of need for an increased level of Federal-Provincial interaction.

  • With advent of Devolution and 18th  Amendment, the importance of IPC affairs have multiplied manifold.
  • By means of consistent efforts, IPC has gradually attained pivotal role in dealing with Inter-Provincial affairs.
  • IPC Department is situated at Block-6 Ist Floor Balochistan Civil Secretariat, Quetta.


To promote uniformity of approach in discussion/ formulation of public policies and implementation by the Provinces and the Federal Government in all fields of common national and regional concerns


Sustain an expanded domain provided in the Rules of Business in post-devolution;
Coordinate Policy issues at Inter-governmental forums (CCI/IPCC, etc) in economic, social and administrative fields;
Coordination/ reporting on implementation of UN Conventions at provincial level (special assignment).
